The holiday season is upon us and it came up so quickly I am finding it hard to manage. Anyone else feel a little crazier than normal these days?
I feel completely exhausted by dinner time, I swear if I shut my eyes instead of eating I would fall right asleep, but then by the time I get into bed hours later so many things are running through my mind that I toss and turn.
On the flip side of that I keep waking up before my alarm goes off in the morning because my crowded mind will not let me rest. I force myself to at least close my eyes and stay in bed until it goes off, but I toss and turn and can't relax!
I guess it's good Mr. McKay is such a heavy sleeper as my tossing and turning doesn't disturb him in the least. (He's also really not a morning person so if I did accidentally woke him up he wouldn't be able to coherently put a sentence together anyway.)
Anyway, I still have a new release! Emmaline's Gamble is available on Amazon and it is free to borrow on KU, so if you are looking for a momentary distraction from the hustle and bustle, it's a quick read!
Emmaline is having a hard time sleeping too, she's excited about Leo taking her to a fair. She's woken up Leo and now he's going to sort her out.
"If you do not get enough sleep now you will be too tired for the fair later."
"I
am trying, Leo, but my brain does not want to sleep. Maybe I will
just get up and go downstairs so I am not bothering you." She
made a move to get out of bed but Leo stopped her.
"You
will stay right here and be an obedient wife. Your husband has told
you to get back to sleep. Do you need help settling down?" Leo
arched a playful brow at her. She could see now that she had fully
awakened him, judging by the way the sheet tented over his lap. A
zing of excitement shot through her as she thought about the many
ways he could 'settle her down'.
"How
do you suppose you will settle me down enough to sleep a few more
hours?" She tilted her head to the side and played innocent.
"First, you need to be taken to task for being such a pest," he said.
She raised her eyebrows. Did he really just call her a pest? That did not seem very nice. She opened her mouth to protest but he was already pulling her down across his lap. Even as he lifted her nightgown, baring her bottom to his gaze, she wriggled against him. "I am not a pest!"
Leo's hand smacked down against her unprotected bottom and she let out a squeal. "You are actually quite a pest, my love. But luckily I know the remedy for that."
"Stop that!" she screeched at him as his hard hand rained down with three more slaps to her quivering cheeks. He paused and rubbed his hand over the places he had just spanked. His soft touch on top of her stinging flesh sent pleasure to her core and she let out a moan.
"Do you like that, my little pest?" he teased.
Emmaline
grew up living a privileged life, she never had to give the presence
of money a second thought, so settling into life with her hard
working husband, Leo, is proving to be a bit of an adjustment. She
tries to be the type of woman Leo can be proud of, but she fears her
upbringing in England's upper crust has left her severely unprepared
in being a proper wife.
When
Leo brought his young wife to America, far away from their life in
England, he promised to take care of her and provide for her. But
when Emmaline gambles away hard earned money and her impulsiveness
puts her in further danger, what is a husband to do with his wayward
wife?
This
book features characters from Emmaline's Groom, including a spoiled
rich girl, her stern husband, spankings, graphic sex, anal play, and
more. If any of this subject matter offends you, please do not
purchase this book.
